Through the “Desmos for Schools” Blue Palace Resorts supports schools in Crete

Blue Palace Resorts cooperates with Desmos, becoming assistants and upgrading the education of students in schools in Crete, with their participation in the program “Desmos for Schools”, collect in one year an amount of 10,624.33€ and support the 1st & 2nd Primary School of Agios Nikolaos and the KE.PLI.NE.T. Lasithi.

The offer of hotels covered:

  • Basic infrastructure needs, such as furniture for library equipment
  • Laboratory equipment for experiments in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, to create jobs for groups of students.
  • Robotics systems for children from kindergarten to High School

The 1st and 2nd elementary schools are attended by many students of families of low economic ability, economic immigrants or foreigners.

Schools were supported by:

  1. Laboratory equipment “Class packs” for experiments: Energy, Electricity and electromagnetism ,Light & Sound, Engineering, Chemistry, Human Systems, material bodies,plants-animals-ecosystems
  2. Basic laboratory equipment and chemistry equipment, to create 4-8 jobs (student group) and 4 jobs respectively consisting of:
    p. General purpose, mechanical, hydrostatic and atmospheric pressure instruments
    b. Instruments-Apparatus: Heat, Electricity, Magnetism, Optics, Chemistry, Biology

The above materials will fully meet the needs of the laboratories of the 5th & 6th classes.

The Center for Informatics of New Technologies of Lasithi (KE.PLI.NE.T) is a structure of Min. of Education and Religious Affairs and is tasked to provide technical support to kindergartens, elementary schools, high schools and high schools.

In KE.PLI.NE.T delivered robotics systems specialized by educational grade.

Robotics courses in primary and Secondary Education offer students a basic understanding of its function in order to be able to perceive and effectively use robotics to improve their quality of life.

Dealing with robotic constructions is a complex and interdisciplinary activity.

Students are trained and at the same time participate with their creations in student festivals of digital creation, in which all participations are awarded.

The head of Information Technology and new technologies of the Secondary Education Directorate of Lasithi, Mr. Orfanakis Vasilios, thanking Desmos for the coordination process of the supply of equipment, said:
