Megalo Evydrio Kindergarten, Farsala
Restoration of the outdoor area and creation of a playground
The devastating floods of 2023 significantly affected Megalo Evydrio Kindergarten in Farsala, which is attended by 11 children. During Desmos’ visit to the school, the extent of the damage became evident, as the floodwaters had caused major destruction to the outdoor area and the school’s infrastructure.
The first intervention focused on restoring the school’s perimeter fencing, which had been damaged by the flooding. The works included clearing and removing the damaged fence, installing a new perimeter fence around the school grounds, and constructing a new main entrance gate suitable both for daily school operations and vehicle access.
At the same time, the school had expressed the need to create a safe play area for its young students. In collaboration with the Municipality of Farsala, Desmos planned the intervention with the aim of creating a suitable space for the installation of new playground equipment.
The Municipality of Farsala responded by constructing the required safety flooring, while Desmos subsequently covered the procurement, installation and certification of the playground equipment.

Today, the outdoor area of Megalo Evydrio Kindergarten provides a safe and welcoming play space, offering children joy and improved conditions during their daily school experience.
“On behalf of the parents, the children and myself, I would like to thank you for your kind and meaningful contribution. The restoration of our school’s fencing, the construction of the entrance gate, as well as the creation of the playground in collaboration with the Municipality of Farsala, have completely transformed the kindergarten’s courtyard, providing children with joy and opportunities for play.”
