Pavlou Mela Special Vocational Education and Training School (E.E.E.EK.), Thessaloniki
Donation of equipment to support collaborative learning
The Pavlou Mela Special Vocational Education and Training School (E.E.E.EK.) is attended by 90 students aged 13 to 22, with intellectual disabilities, autism and multiple disabilities.
With the aim of supporting the educational process and creating a more modern and functional learning environment, Desmos provided equipment for 10 classrooms, consisting of 10 round tables and 30 Pilates balls, which are used instead of conventional chairs.
The round tables enable students to work together and participate in creative activities around a shared workspace.
For the construction of the round tables, Desmos collaborated with the Social Cooperative of Limited Liability of the Western Sector of Mental Health of Thessaloniki (Koi.S.P.E.), a social enterprise that provides training and employment opportunities to people with mental health challenges.
“Your donation has given our students the opportunity to work together on creative activities around the round table. In this way, collaborative teaching and inquiry-based learning are promoted, helping to modernise our school for the benefit of our students.”
Stavros Aslanidis (Head of Pavlou Mela E.E.E.EK.)
