Panagiotis & Aglaia Kyriakou Children’s Hospital – 2024
The “Panagiotis & Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive healthcare to children across Greece, with 395 beds and over 25,000 annual admissions. It also trains more than 100 medical residents each year.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is the first and only unit in Greece with 24-hour open access for parents, implementing a structured family-centered care program for the parents of hospitalized newborns.
The donation of a hybrid incubator — which combines two traditional infant care systems, an incubator and a radiant warmer — enables precise thermal support via microprocessor technology, whether used in open or closed mode. It facilitates the work of the medical team, allowing for monitoring, assessment, and care within the infant’s own environment while minimizing unnecessary handling of these highly vulnerable patients.
The donated electroencephalograph (EEG) became an essential neurological diagnostic tool for the care of critically ill newborns. This advanced system provides detailed brain activity mapping through non-invasive electrode monitoring.
The three additional EEG caps in various sizes allow for examinations across different age and weight groups, ensuring broader diagnostic coverage within the NICU.
