Desmos for Youth – North Evia

From our very first visits to the fire-ravaged area, we detected widespread concern about youth employment and retention in the region, as well as the need to support civil society organizations and institutions. Thus, in 2022, guided by our experience from the nationwide “Desmos for Youth” program and with the aim of supporting job opportunities for young people in organizations with a social impact, Desmos, with an exclusive grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) as part of the “Northern Evia Support Initiative,” designed and implemented the special module “Desmos for Youth: Northern Evia.”

The program had two main goals: To create new job opportunities primarily for young adults residing in the region and to empower local civil society organizations and associations, in an area with limited activity in this sector, by fostering collaboration, networking, and the development of new community projects.

The program concluded in May 2024, having successfully funded 8 job placements across 8 Civil Society Organizations operating in Northern Evia for a duration of 16 months.
