10 YEARS OF DESMOS

Lorem lorem

Dear friends,

YOU are the driving force behind Desmos.

We are deeply moved by the 10th anniversary of Desmos.

What began as a commitment among five friends and our dedication to an idea—a vision for a better future through social service—has grown into a large family of thousands of people who make up DESMOS.

Thanks to your contribution and support, this idea became a reality, and our efforts have given rise to many heartwarming stories of generosity that have had a significant impact.

We believed, and you believed, that:

  • We can all, each in our own way and by doing our small part, help meet the needs of our most vulnerable fellow human beings.
  • Every donation can reach those in genuine need in a transparent and effective manner.
  • The example set by our work and the impact it has are our strength and the means by which we inspire others.

We would like to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, everyone here today (and everyone who couldn’t make it) for supporting us all these years.

Together with you, we’re celebrating Desmos’s 10th anniversary!

Desmos would not have achieved so much WITHOUT:

  1. Our donors, who trust us, support us, and encourage us to keep getting better and better. Every financial donation is invaluable, and it allows us to operate and grow.
  2. The organizations we have been partnering with for so many years, which, with limited resources but boundless dedication, work in the field with professionalism.
  3. Our volunteers, young and old, who contribute their time, effort, and enthusiasm.
  4. All the members of the General Assembly of Desmos for their contributions from day one, and the advisory committee for their ideas and time.
  5. The Board of Directors, which for so many years has supported Desmos and challenged it to become better.
  6. Niki Kerameos, the first President of Desmos, who, despite her very demanding role as Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, continues to stand by us and is here with us today.
  7. Above all, I would like to thank the employees of Desmos—both those who continue to work with us today and those who have left but whom we are happy to have always by our side, just as we are today. Without YOUR unwavering dedication and love for our work, none of this would have been possible.

Over the course of its 10-year history, Desmos has grown from a single employee in a small office to a team of 8 employees with two offices (Athens and Thessaloniki), 7 members on the Board of Directors, 13 members on the Advisory Committee, and a very large number of nationwide programs and projects benefiting hundreds of thousands of people.

Desmos will continue to grow, to create, and above all, to stand by our fellow human beings.

Our vision?

Let’s highlight the importance of charitable giving and volunteerism.

To serve as the link between donors and nonprofit organizations, ensuring that needs are met in the most direct and effective way possible.

They trust us because of the transparency of our work, our professionalism, and the scope of our activities.

We are all committed to ensuring that Desmos continues on its upward trajectory thanks to our collective dedication and the care we provide.

I invite you to watch an anniversary video about our journey, which tells the whole story of Desmos, our work, and our big “family.”

On behalf of the Founding Team, the Board of Directors, the staff, and myself, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for these 10 years filled with love and creativity.

You are the Desmos family!

You can see more about the evening we celebrated with our biggest supporters and partners in the photos here and in a short video here.
