ANT1 Telethon
Thanks to the generosity of the public through the ANT1 Telethon for the children, a nationwide initiative supporting children organised by the non-profit organisation “ANTENNA EIMASTE ENA”, Desmos is implementing significant projects that strengthen public hospitals and improve the quality of care for children and families across Greece.
As part of the implementation of this donation, we visited the Karamanandaneio General Children’s Hospital of Patras, where the new surgical wing is currently under construction. The Telethon donation is funding the procurement of state-of-the-art medical equipment that will support the work of doctors and nursing staff, providing even better conditions of care for young patients.
Karamanandaneio is the only dedicated children’s hospital outside the Attica region, serving children from Patras, the Southern Peloponnese, the Ionian Islands, and Aetolia-Acarnania. The new wing will include state-of-the-art operating theatres, a recovery area, a sterilisation unit, and a resuscitation room, significantly enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide specialised paediatric care.
This project is part of a broader programme through which Desmos is strengthening public hospitals with funds raised by the ANT1 Telethon. In addition to Karamanandaneio, the programme also supports the Paediatric and Maternity Departments of the General Hospital of Kefalonia, as well as the Paediatric Department of the University General Hospital of Larissa.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to ANT1 and “ANTENNA EIMASTE ENA”, as well as to all the individuals and companies who contributed to the ANT1 Telethon, and to the management and staff of the participating hospitals for their outstanding cooperation. Thanks to the contribution of everyone involved, every donation is transformed into support for children and their families.
