Desmos’ Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
From the very first moment of the pandemic, Desmos mobilized immediately to support the most vulnerable groups in society and the organizations serving them. Guided by efficiency and transparency, we activated our network, recorded needs from over 800 social welfare organizations, and implemented a large-scale relief program across Greece.
Thanks to the generous support of 262 individuals, 33 companies, and foundations, Desmos raised and managed:
€537,000 in monetary donations
Over €1,200,000 in in-kind donations and services
Support for more than 300 organizations
We covered urgent needs in:
Medical equipment: bronchoscope, X-ray machine, ventilators, oximeters, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators
Protective materials: 2,253,430 masks, 512,600 gloves, gowns, shoe covers, and more
Sanitation supplies: over 5,000 liters of disinfectants and cleaning products
Food, technology equipment, and even vehicles
2,000,000 disposable masks distributed
Household and technical equipment for 23 child welfare institutions
Who benefited:
Public hospitals (Evangelismos, G. Gennimatas, Agia Kyriaki Children’s Hospital, Penteli, Kefalonia, Sismanoglio, and others)
Social welfare centers and nursing homes across Greece
Homeless shelters, social pharmacies, child protection organizations, and facilities for people with severe intellectual disabilities.
Desmos remained steadfast throughout the pandemic, connecting every act of giving with a real need — with flexibility, responsibility, and full transparency.
We continue — because even in the most challenging times, giving can make all the difference.
