Raising funds for flood victims in Thessaly

Five students took the initiative to organise a fundraising event to support schools in Thessaly affected by the devastating floods.

As part of their initiative, they organised a charity party, where guests were invited to make a donation to attend. Through this creative approach, they successfully mobilised their community and raised an impressive €10,833.

The funds were used to address identified needs for sports and educational equipment at 12 schools and one cultural association in flood-affected Thessaly.

The donation included footballs, basketballs, volleyballs, gymnastics mats, hoops, skipping ropes, basketball hoops, goals, educational games and a wide range of other sports equipment.

Beyond addressing material needs, the initiative also aimed to support children’s psychosocial recovery following the floods by creating more opportunities for physical activity, play and active participation in everyday school life.
