Orestis Siakis
3rd cycle – Physiotherapist – “Nosilia” Association
Orestis participated in the 3rd cycle of the program, at the “Nosilia” Association, as a physiotherapist, providing free in-home physical therapy to patients. The free in-home physical therapy proved to be particularly important, as it met a huge need, especially given the circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The lack of other organizations offering such services in the region made this initiative even more necessary, while simultaneously enhancing the reputation and social value of the “Nosilia” Association’s work.
“Since no other organisation in Athens offered these services for free, promoting the programme also had a positive impact on the visibility of the organisation’s overall work and helped increase the social value it generates. The program helped our organisation increase the number of its direct beneficiaries by 86 additional patients and nearly 192 people as indirect beneficiaries.”
Since 2001, the nonprofit organisation “Nosilia” has been dedicated to alleviating human suffering and provides free home nursing and care to patients with chronic illnesses and elderly people with mobility and socioeconomic challenges. With the addition of physical therapy to its services, the organization is now able to offer a comprehensive rehabilitation program to patients, giving them the opportunity for a better quality of life.
