We cover basic needs. We support dignified living. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Social Welfare<\/strong> pillar is the cornerstone of Desmos\u2019 work. Since our founding in 2012, we have been working daily to provide meaningful support to people facing severe shortages in essential goods and services \u2014 such as food, heating, clothing, basic necessities, and decent living conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We work closely with over 1,000<\/strong> charitable organisations and agencies across the country, documenting their needs and allocating donations where they are most needed at any given time. We support all types of organisations and help every vulnerable group, wherever they are in the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2012 to the end of 2024, Desmos’ Social Welfare Pillar has supported 182,412 of our fellow citizens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desmos Gives Food Aid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n

Through the \u201cDesmos Gives Food Aid\u201d programme, we support organisations that provide food to vulnerable social groups, including children, the elderly, low-income families, and people experiencing homelessness. By utilising in-kind donations from food companies and community food drives, as well as financial contributions, we supply packaged, long-shelf-life food to organisations across Greece. We also respond immediately during times of crisis, ensuring food access for those affected by natural disasters or other emergencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2012 to the end of 2024 according to the 2025 Deloitte Impact Assessment<\/a>, Desmos has provided food items to over 200 social institutions<\/strong>, contributing to the food needs of 51,797 people<\/strong> across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond meeting urgent needs, this program plays a vital role in reducing social inequalities<\/strong>, strengthening local welfare networks,<\/strong> and contributing to a more just and resilient social framework<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Through the “Desmos Provides Warmth\u201d programme, we cover heating costs for institutions and charitable organisations across Greece, ensuring safe and dignified living conditions for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities \u2014 especially during the winter months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2012 until the end of 2024 (Deloitte 2025 Impact Assessment<\/a>), the program has secured 663,630 liters of heating oil <\/strong>for 352 organisations <\/strong>across Greece \u2014 including nursing homes, homeless shelters, child protection institutions, and accommodation facilities for unaccompanied minors. We place special emphasis on remote areas, where winters are harsher and access to heating is often limited. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The “Magic of Giving” is a special initiative by Desmos that goes beyond meeting basic needs, offering moments of joy and care <\/strong>to children <\/strong>and the elderly <\/strong>throughout Greece. Through experiential activities, gifts, festive packages, and activities that bring smiles, the program reminds everyone\u2014especially the most vulnerable\u2014that giving is not only necessary, but can also be magical<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

In-Kind Donations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Desmos makes use of available products and goods donated by companies and individuals, matching them with identified needs of social welfare organisations across Greece. These include new or gently used items such as clothing, furniture, linens, educational and technological equipment, musical instruments, personal hygiene products and baby items, as well as food products approaching their expiry date or with damaged packaging. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2012 to the end of 2024, the program supported 530 charitable organisations<\/strong>, distributing goods with a total value of \u20ac2,650,071 <\/strong>and helping to address the needs of more than 200,000 people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
