Maria spoke about her decision to support our work, as she moved us with her kind words and glowing smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-9a6498d0\">\u201d I truly believe in the value of giving and civic engagement, because they have the power to create waves of positive change for each and everyone of us.\u00a0That\u2019s why I am thrilled to accept Desmos\u2019 invitation, which allows me to contribute as the foundation\u2019s first ambassador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-2d501537\">Despite my heavy schedule that takes me around the world, I intend to stay close to Desmos\u2019 team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-a1f5247e\">I completely identify with Desmos\u2019 values \u2013 hard work, persistence, transparency \u2013 and I am confident that with my participation I will be able to inspire younger generations to believe in Desmos\u2019 vision, as strongly as I do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-bb9a0929\">Giving is very important to me and I am excited to have found the best possible partner in Desmos: I have the opportunity to promote how important it is to contribute through an organization that I know very well and which utilizes every donation in the best possible way for the greater good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-7d4790e2\">Being part of this family has already been a source of inspiration and pride. I am grateful to the Desmos team for their trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-30820a24\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.desmos.org\/team\/\">Desmos\u2019 president, Alexia Katsaounis,<\/a> added: \u201cWe believe that with Maria Sakkari as our Ambassador we will be able to promote our shared values and introduce more people to the power of giving.
