This nationwide program funds employment positions at charitable organizations for unemployed young men and women up to 30 y.o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-26690dce\">\u201cDesmos for Youth\u201d was created as a testament to the capabilities of young people living in Greece today and the amazing potential they can achieve when given the opportunity to work! The project\u2019s goal is two-fold: to address youth unemployment while staffing charitable organizations with young, talented employees!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-46e1b922\">In the two previous years, \u201cDesmos for Youth\u201d has supported 26 diverse, high-impact jobs throughout Greece, covering not only a wide geographical range, but also a wide range of professions, specialties and areas of impact. Thanks to the positions funded through the program, 82.000 individuals have benefitted receiving crucial support, while 26 young adults gained significant professional experience, financial independence and the opportunity to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-82397859\">Also, 86% of participants have continued to work either for the same organization or other employers thanks to their participation to \u201cDesmos for Youth\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-6ecdcd68\"><strong>About \u201cDesmos for Youth\u201d project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-fd3ef8a2\"><strong><strong>Through the&nbsp; \u201cDesmos for Youth\u201d program we aim to fund employment positions at charitable organizations for unemployed youths with three goals:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-element-791ad35e\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>to help youths gain significant professional experience,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to help organizations build their capacity and develop their work, and ultimately,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to help maximize their social and humanitarian impact.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-652b0a5d\">For the majority of participants their jobs through \u201cDesmos for Youth\u201d has been their first paid position, while for 30% of the charitable organizations the youth hired through the program has been their first employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-73ad00f8\">\u201cDesmos for Youth\u201d 2021 would not have been possible without the support of: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biomerieux-diagnostics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">bioM\u00e9rieux,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bodossaki.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bodossaki Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unilever.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\">ELAIS-Unilever Hellas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latsis-foundation.org\/eng\" target=\"_blank\">John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kallistivouliagmeni.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\">Kallisti<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lambadarioslaw.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lambadarios Law Firm<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raycap.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Raycap<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.syn-enosis.gr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">SYN-ENOSIS,<\/a> The Andreas Mentzelopoulos Foundation, <a href=\"https:\/\/au.thehellenicinitiative.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Hellenic Initiative Australia,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.titan-cement.com\/el\/\" target=\"_blank\">TITAN Cement Group<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visa.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\">VISA Greece<\/a>, and an anonymous family donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-6b662998\">Throughout the year, Desmos will closely monitor the progress of its participants and will post regular updates on their accomplishments through our website, social media (Facebook, Instagram) and monthly newsletters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-78b2e858\"><strong>Application process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-bb3821c2\">The program requires that a valid joint application be submitted to Desmos by December 1<sup>st<\/sup> 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-441cd822\">All applications will be evaluated, in addition to the candidates\u2019 profiles, with regards to the description of the position, the position\u2019s significance for the organization, overall expected impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-cf0872db\">Participants must be up to 30 years old, currently unemployed, and are expected to propose a position with clear and measurable objectives and social impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-d41888cd\">Reacting to the unprecedented crisis we are experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, <strong>a fraction of the positions<\/strong> created will be dedicated to roles related to the pandemic and its consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-d9faafb9\">These positions may indicatively include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-49759b15\">a) prevention and primary health care of high-risk individuals (i.e. health professionals for home visits), b) socialization, creative activities, stimuli for beneficiaries in homes and institutions (i.e. utilization of digital media in educational, artistic activities etc.), c) mental and psycho-social support for victims of domestic violence,&nbsp;
