In the summer of 2015, at the height of the Greek crisis, British citizen Thom Feeney launched a crowdfunding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiegogo.com\/en\/projects\/thomfeeney-11188801\/greek-crowdfund?ref=search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">campaign<\/a> aimed at funding jobs for young people in Greece within nonprofit organisations and initiatives with a social impact. The campaign made international headlines (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2015\/jul\/01\/greek-bailout-crowdfund-politicians-euros-people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guardian<\/a>, 2015), and within a few days, <strong>13,398 people from around the world had contributed, raising \u20ac289,119<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text gb-text-b49b813d\">This funding supported <strong>15 jobs<\/strong> for young people at nonprofit organisations in Greece for a full year.
